Welcome
St. Francis de Sales College is manned by the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales (MSFS) of South West Province, India, who firmly believe that ‘the education of the heart is the heart of education’. The MSFS Fathers have nearly two centuries of experience and expertise in imparting quality higher education on every continent of the world.
St. Francis de Sales College is a minority institution with a secular outlook. Students of all castes, creeds, religions and languages are admitted to this temple of learning. St. Francis de Sales College was established in June 2004 with the motto Excellence, Transformation and Efficiency. The College is affiliated to Bangalore University, one of the largest state universities in India. The MSFS Fathers are systematically, definitively, and purposively committed to forming the ‘Generation of the Future’ through more than 100 quality educational institutions in India. The College fittingly and fully satisfies everyone’s educational requirements, particularly of the backward classes and the less privileged sections of the rural belt of Bangalore.
The college is named after St. Francis de Sales, the patron of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales, who considered, knowledge as the eighth sacrament. We believe that true education is directed towards the formation of the human person in view of his/her ultimate goal in life and the good of the society. Hence, we aim to motivate the young to strive for excellence and to become integrated persons who willingly shoulder the responsibility for building a just and humane society.
SFS College is a centre of empowerment to form the young to counter the evil forces in society and to become catalysts of liberation from social, economic and gender inequalities, and to combat against the evils of communalism, regionalism, casteism, racism, tribalism, and consumerism, and to uphold and promote biocentrism. Hence, the Desalites are constantly reminded to radiate the Salesian virtue of joyful optimism, and to acknowledge and respect the co-existence of other persons/faiths/cultures.
